Shareholder Information

Succession

Some of the owners may have since passed away and their whānau will need to succeed to the shares. All

successions and change of ownership of shares needs to be processed through the Māori Land Court. The

Court has guides specifically to walk whānau through the process step by step.

The website provides:

  • A guide explaining the succession process.

  • Information on which application form to use.

  • Checklists of supporting documents required.

  • Details about what happens if there is a will and if there is no will.

  • Information about who is entitled to success to Māori land interests under Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993.

Generally, for a succession application, you will need:

  • A death certificate (or other evidence of death if one isn’t available).

  • A copy of the will (if there is one).

  • Details of the deceased’s whānau and descendants.

  • Any relevant probate or administration documents.

Once you have completed the succession process, your Court Order must be provided to our Trust

Administrator. This is an important step in the succession process, as the Māori Land Court does not provide

this document to Ahu Whenua Trusts. This is your responsibility - following that, you will be issued with a

Shareholder ID number. Trust order succession papers can be emailed to: admin@poripori.org.nz

If you are able to provide contact information for any of these shareholders that may have passed away,

please contact Poripori Farm A Trust Administrator on admin@poripori.org.nz

Poripori Farm A Trust currently has 1,785 listed shareholders. Our shareholder database is

administered by Poripori Farm A Trust Administration. Currently there are 440 shareholders whom

we do not have any contact address details for. If your details have changed, please click on this link.

At the heart of our Trust are our shareholders. They represent the legacy of those who came before us and the vision for those who will follow.

Each shareholder carries a vital role in guiding and upholding the values, responsibilities, and aspirations of our collective.
