Farm Activities

Poripori Farm is primarily dedicated to agriculture, with a portion of the whenua planted in kiwifruit orchards.

At peak production, our farm sustains around 8,700 sheep, 1,380 cattle, and up to 1,000 grazing dairy heifers.

Our livestock breeding base is built on strong traditions — Romney sheep and Angus/Hereford cattle — complemented by sires such as Polled Dorset rams and Simmental bulls. This combination allows us to produce quick-maturing, lean carcasses that align with modern market demands. All products are supported by quality assurance programmes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer expectations.

On the horticulture side, kiwifruit production remains focused on both quality and quantity, with management provided by Apata Grow. Returns from kiwifruit have been consistently strong, contributing to the Trust’s overall sustainability and growth.
